ABOUT ME
My name is Lorenzo Gabaldon, I was born in Requena, a small town near Valencia in Spain in 1973 and since 2007 I have been living in Las Vegas.
I started in the theater in 1998, with "ARRABAL TEATRO", an amateur theater group from my hometown, Requena (Spain). With this group, in addition to being an Actor, I have been doing other things like Director Assistant, Production Assistant, Production Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, Set Construction Crew, Sound and Light Technician and Secretary of the Company, well I think I have worked a bit of everything. I have been lucky enough to travel with "ARRABAL TEATRO" and perform in BELGIUM, SOUTH KOREA and ITALY and of course in SPAIN.
My beginnings with Arrabal Teatro were curious, in 1998, in the local radio of Requena, Arrabal Teatro was looking for extras for a film, I applied for an extra and ended up being the main rol in the film, without any experience in acting but I met a great group of people, the theater people from my town and at the end of the filming of the film I joined the group and ended up being the secretary of Arrabal Teatro for several years.
I made my debut as a stage actor in 1999 with the comedy ¡Anda, mi madre! At the Principal Theater of Requena, a performance for the Valencian Community Amateur Theater Assembly.
With the play that I performed the most with Arrabal Teatro was Formulario 522, we have been doing performances for several years because it is a very funny comedy and it is also the winning of the IV Ciudad de Requena Foundation International Brief Theater Contest.
I have been the MC of the Theater Gala and the Awards Ceremony of the VI International Brief Theater Contest of the Ciudad de Requena Foundation that was held at the Principal Theater of Requena (Valencia) in 2003.
Also, I was the Secretary of the Jury of the Ciudad de Requena Foundation International Brief Theater Competition for several years and one year, when I was not the secretary, I participated as a preliminary jury.
And my last performance with Arrabal Teatro was in October 2008 at the International Amateur Theater Festival in Viterbo, Italy with Tiempo de Sueños.
Arrabal Teatro will always be in my heart because it was where I started acting and where I learned how to act and how to love theater and where I found my passion for the stage and all this acting world. An emotion and a feeling that cannot be explained, you have to live it and once you step on a stage you cannot leave it.
I have also worked as an Actor with SAGA PRODUCCIONES in the Zarzuelas "La verbena de la Paloma", "La corte del Faraón" and "La rosa del azafrán" in which in addition to working as an actor I have sung in the choir and in "La corte of the Pharaoh "sing the role of SHELA. Also with this company I have been the state manager in the zarzuela "Luisa Fernanda".
I have worked as an Actor without a text in the operas of the tetralogy of the "Ring of the Nibelung" with the artistic direction of "LA FURA DELS BAUS" and the musical direction of "ZUBIN MEHTA". It was a co-production between "El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía" from Valencia and "El Maggio Musicale Fiorentino" from Florence.
The tetralogy project was originally only for 3 years, from 2007 to 2009, but several cities were interested in the production, hired it, and I was lucky enough to be able to continue working on these operas every year until 2019 in the cities of Seville. , (Spain), Houston (USA) and Taichung (Taiwan).
I have also known and worked in the world of television and films, although I prefer the theater.
I worked as an Actor for Canal 9 Televisión Valenciana, in the program "Mira Mira", a Hidden Camera program where I was the victim of a joke in a restaurant.
Also in June 2011 I worked as an actor on the TELEMUNDO television channel in a chapter in the program "Caso Cerrado", a very popular program in the United States and in Mexico.
In Las Vegas, NV, where I currently reside, I have participated as an Actor in 3 Short Films, Reservations, Shame on you and Clown in the house.
Also in Las Vegas I participated in the independent film "Searching for life".
In October 2014 I made my first appearance in an English play "Exhibit this, the museum comedies!" with the Desert Spring Theater Arts theater group from Las Vegas, NV. Quite a challenge for me because it is very different to act in another language that you do not know so well and that you do not feel safe, but the experience was very satisfactory.
I have also been able to do theater in Spanish, in June 2018, I participated in the "Ninth annual Vegas Fringe Festival" with the play "La Reina MAB" and with the company "Thujone's Theater Tribe" in Las Vegas. The festival was held, in the Las Vegas Little Theate, one of the oldest independent theaters in Las Vegas with more than 20 years of operation, and with this play we made history, as it was the first time that a play in Spanish was staged in that theater.
And finally, in 2019 I was part of the cast of "OUR TOWN", with the company "Majestic Repertory Theater" also from Las Vegas. One of the most recognized companies in the city for its immersive theater productions, where the importance of space, design and the public is emphasized. This performance was bilingual, when we spoke in Spanish there were English subtitles, and we interacted with the audience, a very interesting staging.
ACERCA DE MI
Empecé en el
teatro en 1998, con "ARRABAL
TEATRO", grupo de teatro amateur de mi ciudad, Requena (España).
Con este grupo, además de ser Actor, he sido Montador, Ayudante de Dirección,
Utilero, Regidor, Técnico de Sonido, Ayudante de Luces, Secretario del Grupo,
bueno creo que he trabajado un poco de todo. He tenido la suerte de viajar
con "ARRABAL
TEATRO" y actuar en BELGICA, COREA DEL SUR e ITALIA y por
supuesto en España.
Mis inicios con
Arrabal teatro fueron curiosos, en 1998, en la radio local de Requena, Arrabal
teatro buscaba extras para una película, me presente para extra y acabe siendo
el protagonista de la película, sin nada de experiencia en la actuación pero
conocí a un gran grupo de gente, la gente del teatro de mi pueblo y al
finalizar el rodaje de la película me integre en el grupo y acabe siendo el
secretario de Arrabal Teatro por varios años.
Hice mi debut como
actor de teatro en 1999 con la comedia ¡Anda,
mi madre! En el Teatro principal de Requena, un montaje para la Asamblea de
teatro amateur de la Comunidad Valenciana.
Con la obra que más funciones hice con Arrabal Teatro fue Formulario 522,
la llevamos en cartel durante vario años porque es una comedia muy divertida y
además es la obra ganadora del IV Certamen Internacional de Teatro Breve Fundación Ciudad de
Requena.
He sido el
presentador de la Gala del Teatro y de la Entrega de Premios del VI Certamen
Internacional de Teatro Breve Fundación Ciudad de Requena que se hizo en el
Teatro Principal de Requena (Valencia) en el año 2003.
También, fui el
Secretario del Jurado del Certamen Internacional de Teatro Breve Fundación
Ciudad de Requena durante varios años y un año, que no fui el secretario,
participe como jurado preliminar.
Y la última vez que participe en un montaje de Arrabal teatro fue en
Octubre del 2008 en el Festival Internacional de teatro amateur de Viterbo,
Italia con Tiempo de Sueños.
Arrabal Teatro siempre va a estar en mi corazón por que ha sido donde
empecé con la actuación y donde aprendí tanto a actuar como a amar el teatro y
donde se desarrolló mi pasión por el escenario y todo este mundillo de la
actuación. Una emoción y un sentimiento que no se puede explicar, hay que
vivirlo y una vez pisas un escenario ya no puedes abandonar.
También he
trabajado de Actor con SAGA
PRODUCCIONES en las Zarzuelas "La verbena de la Paloma",
"La corte del Faraón" y "La rosa del azafrán" en las que
además de trabajar como actor he cantado en el coro y en "La corte del
Faraón" cante el papel de SHELA. También con esta compañía he sido Regidor
en la zarzuela "Luisa Fernanda".
He trabajado como
Actor sin texto en las óperas de la
tetralogía del "Anillo del Nibelungo" con la dirección artística
de "LA FURA DELS BAUS" y
la dirección musical de "ZUBIN
MEHTA". Fue una coproducción entre "El Palau de les Arts Reina
Sofía" de Valencia y "El Maggio Musicale Fiorentino" de
Florencia.
El proyecto de la tetralogía en principio era solo por 3 años, del 2007
al 2009, pero varias ciudades se interesaron en la producción, la contratarony
tuve la suerte de poder seguir trabajando en estas operas todos los años hasta
el 2019 en las ciudades de Sevilla, (España), Houston (USA) y Taichung
(Taiwan).
También he
conocido y trabajado en el mundo de la televisión y del cine, aunque prefiero
el teatro.
Trabajé como Actor
para Canal 9 Televisión Valenciana, en el programa "Mira Mira", un
programa de Cámara Oculta donde yo era víctima de una broma en un restaurante.
También en Junio
de 2011 trabaje como actor en el canal de televisión TELEMUNDO en un capitulo
en el programa "Caso Cerrado", un programa muy popular tanto en
Estados Unidos como en México,
En Las Vegas, NV,
donde resiso actualmente, he participado como Actor en 3 Short Films o
cortometrajes “Reservations”, “Shame on you" y "Clown in the house”.
También en Las
Vegas participe en la película independiente "Searching for life".
En octubre del
2014 hice mi primera aparición en una obra de teatro en inglés "Exhibit this, the museum
comedies!" con el grupo de teatro Desert Spring Theatre Arts de Las Vegas, NV. Todo un reto para mí
porque es muy diferente actuar en otro idioma que no dominas y que no te
sientes seguro, pero la experiencia fue muy satisfactoria.
También he podido
hacer teatro en español, durante Junio de 2018 participé en el "Ninth
annual Vegas Fringe
Festival" con la obra "La
Reina MAB" y con
la compañía "Thujone's
Theatre Tribe" de Las Vegas. El festival se celebró, el “Las Vegas Little
Theatre” uno de los teatro independientes de las Vegas más antiguos con más de
20 años de funcionamiento, y con esta obra hicimos historia, pues fue la
primera vez que una obra en español se ponía en escena en ese teatro.
Y ya por último, en el 2019 formé parte del elenco de "OUR TOWN", con la compañía "Majestic Repertory Theatre" también de las Vegas. Una de las compañías más reconocidas en la ciudad por sus montajes de teatro inmersivo, donde se enfatiza la importancia del espacio, del diseño y del público. Este montaje fue bilingüe, cuando hablábamos en español había subtítulos en inglés, y se interactuaba con el público, una puesta en escena muy interesante.
